The BronxConnect Model

We love young people relentlessly
Justice-involved youth are often stigmatized and labeled as “problem children.” For over twenty years, our Connect programs have been based on the belief that young people have inherent value and are worthy of unwavering support. We infuse everything we do with the idea that positive, loving relationships are crucial to the self-improvement, accountability, and personal development of youth.
We act swiftly to meet youth where they are and build on their strengths
We address barriers and connect youth to resources, while nourishing their talents and interests. Our hands-on approach helps youth experience growth, find purpose, and exercise their gifts. In turn, youth become motivated to reduce risky behaviors that can lead to re-arrest or gun violence.
 We are committed to redemption for youth and families
We refuse to give up on young people and their ability to change their life outcomes. We show youth they deserve compassion and grace, even when it’s in the form of “tough love” that helps them foster personal accountability.

BronxConnect draws on its deep roots to develop community as the only Bronx-based alternative justice program with close to two decades of experience. We build on the strengths of the community, identifying those who are its pillars and working with them to change the atmosphere.

We organize community events around issues that affect our youth and overall wellbeing. Our goal is to awaken the voice of the urban community to speak out against injustice. The near 2,000 BronxConnect youth we have served, and their families’ voices, are being organized to be heard.

BronxConnect draws on its deep roots to develop community as the only Bronx-based alternative justice program with close to two decades of experience. We build on the strengths of the community, identifying those who are its pillars and working with them to change the atmosphere.
